Beste studenten, docenten en medewerkers van de Horeca Academie

Zoals ik in mijn vorige bericht aangaf is doorgaan de enige optie voor onze club. Met onze club daarmee bedoel ik jullie allemaal, studenten, docenten, medewerkers, samen vormen we de Horeca Academie en ook brasserie Southwood.
Met doorgaan bedoel ik, doorgaan met onderwijs en met leren, is wat ik om me heen zie: de docenten verzorgen online lessen en de studenten uit de keuken worden thuis aan het werk gezet met herkenningstafels en weekopdrachten om zoveel mogelijk praktisch bezig te laten zijn en ook wekelijks te blijven leren. Daarnaast zien we mooie uitwerkingen voorbij komen. Niet alleen de studenten uit de keuken, maar ook de ondernemers en leidinggevenden in opleiding worden op afstand aan het werk gezet met vraagstukken waar ze ook in hun eigen onderneming mee te maken zullen krijgen. Hierop ontvangen we vele positieve reacties en dat zorgt ervoor dat onze docenten ook met veel energie werken aan nieuwe opdrachten en er alles aan doen om ervoor te zorgen dat geen enkele student studievertraging hoeft op te lopen door deze bijzondere situatie. Het is dan ook fijn om iedere week contact te hebben met elkaar via de webinars van zoom en alle contacten die lopen via whatsapp, social media, etc.
Ik wil jullie allemaal een groot compliment maken voor de getoonde inzet en spirit, hou dat er in! En hou het vol want zoals we gisteren Mark Rutte hoorden zeggen, blijven we nog even op deze manier doorgaan.
Waar we nu allemaal wel zeker van kunnen zijn is dat we heel april online les hebben. De komende weken zullen we hopelijk gaan zien dat we het virus onder controle krijgen. Het zou kunnen dat we in de meivakantie of zelfs al eerder gelegenheid kunnen bieden tot het oefenen voor examens of zelfs het afleggen daarvan. We hopen in mei weer les te kunnen gaan geven op de Horeca Academie en examens af te nemen. Het is nu, helaas echt te vroeg om dit met zekerheid te kunnen zeggen. Maar het is wel een richtpunt en naarmate april vordert zal ik jullie gaan informeren wat er in mei gebeurt.
Het zijn onzekere tijden, maar aan het einde van de tunnel komt altijd weer licht. Het zal hopelijk snel, maar misschien minder snel in beeld komen. Maar hoe dan ook we houden vol.
Ik sluit af met allereerst beterschap aan hen die rechtstreeks met Corona te maken hebben, beterschap voor jullie een je naasten. Verder hoop ik dat iedereen gezond is en dat blijft. Houd je aan de corona-regels en tot snel,
we blijven leren!

Dear students, teachers and employees of the Horeca Academy
As I mentioned in my previous post, to keep operating the school is the only option for our team. By our team I mean you all, students, teachers, employees, together we form the Horeca Academy and also brasserie Southwood.
What I see around me is that all of you are working hard to keep learning: the teachers provide online classes and the students from the kitchen are put to work at home with recognition tables and weekly assignments to get as much activities as possible and also continue to learn weekly. In addition, we see beautiful elaborations passing by. Not only the students from the kitchen, but also the entrepreneurs and managers in training are remotely put to work with issues that they will also have to deal with in their own company. We receive many positive reactions to this and that ensures that our teachers also work with great energy on new assignments and do everything possible to ensure that no student has to suffer study delay due to this complicated situation. It is therefore nice to have contact with each other every week via the webinars of zoom and all contacts that run via whatsapp, social media, etc.
I want to compliment all of you for the dedication and spirit shown, keep that up! Even more because as we heard Mark Rutte say yesterday, we will continue this way for a while.
What we can all be sure of now is that we have online lessons throughout April. Hopefully in the coming weeks we will see that we get the virus under control. It is possible that in the May holidays or even earlier we can offer opportunities to practice exams or even administer them. We hope to be able to teach at the Horeca Academy again in May and to have exams. Unfortunately, it is really too early to say this with certainty. But it is a target and as April progresses I will inform you about what will happen in May.
These are uncertain times, but there is always light at the end of the tunnel. Hopefully it will appear soon, but perhaps less quickly. Either way, we keep going strong.
I conclude with first of all wishing those who deal directly with Corona hope you get better soon and your loved ones toos. I also hope that everyone is and remains healthy. Stick to the corona rules and see you soon,
