Beste studenten,
Het is vandaag 27 maart 2020
en een rare dag.
In ieder geval voor mij.
Precies een jaar geleden startten wij op de Horeca Academie met een nieuwe bijzondere opleiding.
Namelijk Professional Chef.
Een opleiding geheel in het Engels voor alle Engelstalige kooktalenten verspreid over ons hele land.
Ze konden niet wachten om een echte koksopleiding te gaan volgen.
Uniek, want we waren en zijn de enige die deze opleiding aanbieden.
En zelf was ik trots en verheugd dat ik dit mocht gaan doen met deze
kleurrijke club gemotiveerde studenten.
Lesgeven aan een enthousiaste groep met zoveel wereldwijde culturen, inspiraties en karakters.
Wie wil dat niet, zo’n kans?
Inmiddels hebben we al twee volle groepen Engelstalige studenten en ze staan zelfs in de rij!
We hebben vandaag een mooi jaar achter de rug.
Natuurlijk met hobbels, uiteraard.
Maar ze hebben vooral veel geleerd en we hebben ook veel lol gehad met elkaar.
Vandaag stond de pvb gepland voor onze eerste professionals Chefs.
De grote Proeve van bekwaamheid.
Ik had ze zo graag succes gewenst voor vandaag en aan het eind van deze dag met hun Proeve gefeliciteerd.
Maar helaas, we moeten net als de rest van de wereld veel geduld hebben.
En hopen dat het goed gaat met iedereen.
Ik kan niet wachten op de diploma-uitreiking in een normale tijd.
Met blije koppies, leuke speeches, Cava, hapjes, bloemen, vrienden, familie en docenten.

Today it’s the 27th of March 2020
and it is a weird day.
At least for me.
Exactly one year ago, we starten with a very special and new education at the Horeca Academie.
Called Professional Chef.
An education completely in English for al English (not Dutch speaking) cooking talents around our country.
They couldn’t wait to begin there education.
Unique, because we were and still are the only school that provides the cooking education completely in English.
I was so excited and proud to be the first teacher to start with this colorful club of motivated students.
Teaching a group this enthousiastic with so many worldwide cultures, inspiration and characters.
Who wouldn’t want a chance like that?
Today we already have two full groups of Professional Chef students, there is even a waitlist!
Today we have completed a beautiful year with the first group.
Of course with a couple of bumps along the road.
But mostly this was a year of learning and having a lot of fun.
Today the exams were planned for our first Professional Chefs.
The big final exam.
I would have liked to wish them al the best of luck for today, and would have loved to congratulate them at the end of the day with their succes.
But unfortunately we have to be patient.
And hope all is well with everyone.
I am looking forward to a graduation in ‘normal times’.
With happy faces, fun speeches, Cava, bites, flowers, friends, family and teachers.
